Peter

Peter Hopkinson is the poster child for keeping music in public schools and asks that you don’t let budget cuts ever take these programs away. Playing trumpet in school bands planted a seed that stayed with him his entire life. College, family, and a career in the US Coast Guard put performing on hold for 24 years. But, Peter’s love for playing guitar; blues, jazz, and rock brought him back into the limelight. Peter’s other interests include classic muscle cars (frame off 3 year project restoring a 1966 GTO with enough horsepower and torque to rotate the earth). Musical influences include Buddy Guy, Cream, Jimi, BB King, JJ Cale, Los Lobos, Booker T and The MG’s, Alan Roux, and every unknown Bluesman who ever came out of the Delta. Words of wisdom: ”Don’t just dream; Do”; and Matthew 6:33.
