Jill
Jill Robinson’s first musical experience was playing electric guitar with Mrs. Tomko’s accordion, drum, and guitar polka band at age eight. This was followed by several bands in which Jill played the trumpet, euphonium, bass guitar, and then drums. An ill-advised detour was singing in the Madrigal Choir while serving flaming ale. Jill reentered the world of drums with The Island Tones Steel Drum Band and then finally, The Crab Shack Band. Jill has studied with many great teachers including drummer Jose Duque and is influenced by the great drummers Cindy Blackman, Stanton Moore, Jojo Mayer, and Ginger Baker. When she is not playing drums, her interests include skiing, traveling, yoga, and hiking.
